Food Waste & Composting
Weekly food waste collections are now available in Cardiff. All households in Cardiff have received a brown kerbside food waste caddy.
Each household in Cardiff also has a free kitchen caddy and biodegradable caddy liners in which you place your food waste. When the liner is full, tie it closed and put it into your kerbside food waste caddy, then place your kerbside food caddy on the pavement for weekly collection.
If you have not received these, or need more liners please call 029 2087 2087.
You can put any cooked or uncooked food in your caddy e.g. dairy, tea and coffee grounds, fruit and vegetables, meat and bones, fish, bread and pastries. Please remove all packaging and wrappings. The compost from food waste will be used for land restoration and landscaping projects.
